Sara Wells

Sara Wells is a Lecturer at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), affiliated with the College of Education since August 2021. She holds a Master of Arts in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from UNK (2008), a Bachelor of Arts in Education (2004), and an additional endorsement in School Principalship PK-8 (2020).

Education & Experience:

• Former Board of Education President (2019–2020) and member of Axtell Community School (2013–2020), where she led policy development, budgeting, and initiated Ag Education/FFA programs.
• Previously a 4th-grade teacher (2006–2009) and middle school language arts teacher (2005–2006), focusing on differentiated instruction and curriculum alignment.

Research & Interests: Her work emphasizes curriculum design, democratic education practices, early childhood development, and educational leadership. She advocates for inclusive teaching strategies and community-driven educational initiatives.
