Jane Reichel is a Professor of Administrative Law at Stockholm University, active since 2018, and previously held the same position at the Faculty of Law, Uppsala University (2014–2018). She serves as Pro-Rector at Stockholm University and contributes to academic leadership as Editor of the Administrative Law Journal and Senior Editor of the Review of European Administrative Law.
Her research examines how globalization and Europeanization reshape administrative law, focusing on governance of transnational authority networks, transparency in digitalized public administration, and data protection in EU projects like BBMRI, BiobankCloud, and BiobankBridgeAfrica. She led the ethics and law work package in BiobankBridgeAfrica and advises Horizon 2020 projects.
Reichel’s recent publications address GDPR implementation, AI regulation, and the European Health Data Space, with a focus on balancing individual rights against public interests. She collaborates with the Center for Research Ethics & Bioethics, Uppsala University and participates in networks like the Privacy Law Forum.
Her teaching includes Administrative Law and EU Law at undergraduate and advanced levels. She has held leadership roles such as Vice-Dean at Uppsala University’s Faculty of Law and serves on the Advisory Board of the Swedish Institute for European Policy Studies.
