Jane Kaye is Professor of Health Law and Policy at the University of Melbourne and Director of the Centre for Law, Health and Emerging Technologies (HeLEX) at the University of Oxford's Faculty of Law. She holds a DPhil from Oxford, LLB from the University of Melbourne, and BA from Australian National University.
Her research examines governance frameworks for emerging technologies, focusing on AI ethics, genomic data sharing, biobank governance, and dynamic consent models. She addresses challenges in health data privacy, cross-border research collaboration, and public engagement in precision medicine. Her work influences EU policy through participation in initiatives like TEHDAS (European Health Data Space) and BBMRI-ERIC.
Publications emphasize participatory research models, regulatory harmonization, and ethical data reuse. Recent work analyzes public preferences in health data sharing across 12 European countries and develops frameworks for international pediatric research ethics.
She directs major projects including BrainBioLink and EU-STANDS4PM, focusing on neurodata governance and AI standardization in personalized medicine. Collaborates with global institutions including Osaka University and University of Tasmania.
