Jane Kaye is a part-time Professor of Health Law at Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne. She concurrently serves as the Director of the Centre for Law, Health and Emerging Technologies (HeLEX) at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on Dynamic Consent, biobanks, genomics, privacy frameworks, data-sharing governance, and translational research. She established HeLEX@Melbourne as an additional research team exploring relationships between law, governance, and best practices in emerging technologies.
Her interdisciplinary work develops digital consent approaches to enhance participant engagement in research. She holds degrees from the Australian National University (BA), University of Melbourne (LLB), and University of Oxford (DPhil), and is admitted to practice in the ACT Supreme Court. Recognition includes a Wellcome Trust University Award supporting her research.
