Dr Megan Prictor is a Senior Lecturer and Director of the Juris Doctor program at the Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne. She co-leads the Health Law stream at the Australasian Association of Bioethics and Health Law and advises Stem Cells Australia. Her research focuses on law and emerging health technologies, including dynamic consent frameworks, healthcare consultation recordings, and health data governance. She holds a PhD (University of Melbourne, 2000) and a first-class law degree (La Trobe University, 2014), admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2017.
Her research spans genomic data regulation, privacy law, and the legal implications of clinical decision support systems. Notable grants include the 2021 Early Career Researcher Grant for genomics/digital health work. She teaches in JD and Masters programs, emphasizing legal method and reasoning.
Recent awards include the 2021 Dyason Fellowship and recognition for her work on health data breaches. Her interdisciplinary projects include evaluations of digital consent platforms (e.g., 'CTRL') and legal frameworks for ambient listening technologies.
