Janusz Reichel

Dr. hab. Janusz Reichel is a university professor at the Department of City and Regional Management within the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz. He has been affiliated with the University since 2004, following his previous position at Lodz University of Technology (1991-2004).

His educational background includes a habilitation in social sciences (2019) with dissertation on 'Succession of managerial positions in non-governmental organizations,' a PhD in economics (1999) from Wrocław University of Economics with thesis on 'LETS (Local Exchange Trading System) as an example of a new form of money,' and a Master's degree in Economics and Organization of Production (1991) from the University of Lodz.

Professor Reichel's research spans corporate social responsibility, business and environmental ethics, social economy, intersectoral cooperation between public administration, NGOs and business, environmental management systems (ISO 14001, EMAS), sustainable development, strategic management, project management across different organizational sectors, and innovative applications of gamification in education.

His scientific achievements include numerous Dean and Rector awards, two WZ statuettes (student awards) as 'Just Lecturer' (2010, 2014), and the main prize in the 'Vocational Education' category at EduInspiracje 2016 for his Leonardo da Vinci project 'Homoresponsabilis in the globalized World.'

Professor Reichel actively supervises student theses, conducts research, secures funding through competitions, publishes findings, participates in academic conferences, and serves on university committees. He maintains regular consultation hours at Matejki 22/26, room 37, in Łódź through early 2026.
