Jane Murphy is Professor and Deputy Dean for Research in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at Bournemouth University. As a Registered Nutritionist and Dietitian, her research addresses nutrition-related challenges in aging populations, particularly malnutrition and dementia care.
Research focuses:
- Nutritional care for dementia patients in community settings
- Dietary interventions for neurodegeneration prevention
- Malnutrition screening and management protocols
- Digital health coaching for frailty management
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals including Zero Hunger, Good Health, and Reduced Inequalities. She co-produces research-informed training materials for healthcare professionals.
Current projects include NIHR-funded studies on digital health coaching for frailty and improving nutritional care for home-based dementia patients.
