Dr. Jane Liu is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Nebraska Omaha, affiliated with the College of Business Administration's Economics Department. She serves as an Associate Editor of Open Economies Review and has been a visiting scholar at the University of Texas at Dallas. Her research focuses on macroeconomics, financial economics, and quantitative methods, with notable work on cryptocurrency markets, monetary policy, and financial stability. Dr. Liu has presented at prestigious institutions including the Bank of England, European Central Bank, and Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
Her research interests include analyzing volatility dynamics in financial markets, the role of monetary aggregates, and the application of copula models. She has published in leading journals such as Macroeconomic Dynamics, Journal of Financial Stability, and Studies in Nonlinear Dynamics and Econometrics. Her 2021 paper on cryptocurrency ranked among the top 10 most downloaded articles in The Manchester School.
