Dr. Jane Kinnaird is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow's School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying host-parasite interactions, particularly in Theileria annulata and related pathogens. She investigates topics such as parasite-induced gene modulation, immune evasion strategies, and the genetic basis of disease susceptibility in bovine hosts.
Her work has involved collaborations with institutions globally, exploring areas like extracellular vesicle biology, HSP90 isoform characterization, and transmission-blocking antigen discovery. Kinnaird's contributions span over two decades, with publications in journals like Cellular Microbiology and PLoS ONE.
Research interests include: Parasitology, molecular biology of host-pathogen systems, genomic analysis of vector-borne pathogens, and development of diagnostic tools for bovine diseases.
Her studies on Theileria's impact on host gene expression and immune pathways have advanced understanding of tropical theileriosis pathogenesis. Ongoing work explores how parasite proteins modulate host cell signaling and transcriptional networks.
