Jane Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Education (Mathematics for Primary ITE) at the University of Winchester's Institute of Education. With over 10 years of primary school teaching experience in Hampshire, she previously served as a Leading Maths Teacher and Mathematics Consultant for Hampshire Local Authority. She coordinates Mathematics at a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) provider and teaches on Poole Local Authority's Mathematics Specialist Teacher (MaST) programme.
Her research focuses on the role of talk in enhancing children’s mathematical reasoning skills and effective methods for developing trainee teachers’ mathematical subject knowledge. Jane is professionally affiliated with the Association of Teachers of Mathematics (ATM) and The Mathematical Association.
