Cath Delor

Cath Delor serves as a Senior Teaching Technician in English Education and an Occasional Associate Lecturer at the School of Education and Childhood, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). With extensive experience as a primary school teacher across all year groups in Bristol, she now supports trainee teachers in developing English subject knowledge, children's literature expertise, and classroom teaching skills within the Primary Initial Teacher Education program.

Her research focuses on critical intersections of:

• Reading for Pleasure through social justice and inclusion frameworks
• Trainee teachers' self-efficacy in English subject knowledge
• Children's literature and poetry pedagogy
• Sustainable educational resource initiatives

Her M.A. research investigated confidence development in English subject knowledge for Primary ITE trainees, and she actively contributes to the Sustainable Second-hand Bookshop project. She collaborates on publications promoting equity in reading education, including the edited volume 'Putting Social Justice and Equity at the Heart of Reading for Pleasure' with Dr. Jane Carter.

Her professional background includes classroom teaching from Reception to Year Six, English consultancy roles, and headship experience supporting schools in challenging circumstances.
