With over 10 years of hands-on experience in primary school environments—including roles as Teaching Assistant, Specialist Behaviour Support, Key Stage 2 Teacher, and Key Stage 2 English Lead—he integrates practical classroom expertise into his academic instruction.
His research centers on Primary English education with specialized focus on children's literature, reading-for-pleasure initiatives, and innovative writing pedagogy. Currently completing an ESRC-funded PhD at the University of Exeter, his doctoral work examines how teachers model cognitive thought processes during whole-class modelled writing sessions and the resultant impact on children's writing development. This bridges curriculum innovation with practical classroom application.
