Jan de Lange

Prof. Jan de Lange is a Full Professor and Visiting Professor at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), holding the chair of the Maxillofacial Surgery department at Amsterdam UMC and ACTA. As an epidemiologist and surgeon, his research focuses on maxillofacial surgery, including obstructive sleep apnea, trauma, and osteotomy. He actively participates in national and international lectures and serves as Vice Chair of the Strasbourg Osteosynthesis Research Group (SORG).

His research interests span molecular pathology of craniofacial tumors, surgical interventions for sleep apnea, and trauma-related disorders. Over 187 research outputs highlight his contributions to areas like fibro-osseous tumors, maxillomandibular advancement, and temporomandibular joint pathologies. He has supervised seven PhD theses and collaborates internationally on maxillofacial research.

Professional activities include organizing conferences on surgical techniques and trauma management. His work bridges clinical practice and molecular diagnostics, addressing both surgical and epidemiological challenges in craniofacial medicine.
