Jan Oechsler

Jan Oechsler is a Researcher at the Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg. He is part of the Cluster of Excellence liv MatS @ FIT, focusing on 3D-printed electrodes for photosupercapacitors. His work integrates materials science, inorganic chemistry, and engineering to optimize energy storage systems. He co-founded the startup Nero Materials and contributed to advancements in sodium ion batteries.

Research interests include nanomaterials synthesis, electrode design, and renewable energy systems. His recent publication in Advanced Functional Materials highlights breakthroughs in anode materials for sodium ion batteries.

As a primary supervisor under Prof. Dr. Anna Fischer, he guides projects bridging fundamental chemistry with applied energy technologies. His contributions are pivotal in the development of next-generation energy storage solutions.
