Jan Liliemark serves as a Visiting Professor at Linköping University, holding dual appointments in the Department of Health, Medicine and Care (HMV) and Department of Society and Health (SH). He concurrently acts as Adjunct Professor in evaluation and health economics at the Unit for Health and Medical Care Analysis (HSA), which integrates the Center for Medical Technology Assessment (CMT) and Prioritization Center.
His research focuses on ethical dilemmas in healthcare priority setting and health economics, evolving from earlier work in pharmacokinetics and oncology clinical trials. Current investigations examine patient benefit assessment frameworks and severity metrics in resource allocation. As Chairman of the Medical Device Products Council and member of the Council for New Therapies, he influences regional healthcare policy through the knowledge management organization.
The HSA unit conducts methodological research across health economic evaluations, clinical decision-making, and prioritization systems. CMT specializes in medical technology assessment protocols while the Prioritization Center develops evidence-based frameworks for healthcare rationing, providing critical knowledge support to municipalities and regional authorities.
