Jan Buermann is a Research Fellow in the Agents, Interaction and Complexity (AIC) research group within the Department of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton. His work focuses on designing fair AI systems to manage self-interested agents' diverging interests for efficient resource utilization under uncertainty. Key areas include smart energy systems, net-zero decarbonization, and citizen-centric AI systems. He contributes to projects like CCAIS (Citizen-Centric AI Systems) and FEVER (Future Electric Vehicle Energy Networks), emphasizing practical applications of AI in energy and transport.
