Dr. Jamie Vener is Professor in the online MSEd Public Health Education program at Southern Oregon University. She earned her PhD in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Utah (2003), MA in Kinesiology from Cal State Fresno (1999), and BS in Animal Physiology from UC Davis (1985). Her research examines physiological adaptations to environmental stressors and health behavior interventions.
Publications focus on exercise physiology under simulated altitude/hypoxia conditions, thermal therapy effects in neurological disorders, and psychometric tools for measuring physical activity motivation. She received the Outstanding Doctoral Student award at Utah and advocates for holistic health education approaches.
