James Richard Shealy is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University, where he has been active since 1987. He co-founded and chairs the biennial international workshop on Organometallic Vapor Phase Epitaxy (OMVPE), a critical technique for semiconductor crystal growth.
