Prof. Yuping Zeng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Delaware. She specializes in high-speed semiconductor devices and novel electron devices using advanced materials and fabrication techniques. Her research focuses on transistors (HBTs, HEMTs, TFETs), optoelectronics (LEDs, photodetectors), and device modeling. She has authored over 70 papers combining journal and conference publications.
Education: B.S. from Jilin University (China), M.S. from National University of Singapore, Ph.D. from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. Postdoctoral work at UC Berkeley under Professors Chenming Hu and Ali Javey.
Research interests include III-V semiconductor devices, nanoscale fabrication processes, and device performance optimization. She investigates topics like gallium nitride (GaN) HEMTs, titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin-film transistors, and GeSn-based optoelectronics.
Her recent work emphasizes scaling semiconductor devices to sub-100 nm dimensions while maintaining high performance, with applications in 5G, RF systems, and biomedical therapies using alternating electric fields for cancer treatment. She holds expertise in advanced fabrication techniques such as atomic layer deposition and molecular beam epitaxy.
