معرفی
James Hislop is a Lecturer in Pharmacology at the University of Aberdeen, within the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition. With a PhD in Pharmacology/Endocrinology from the University of Bristol (2001) and postdoctoral training at UCSF, he has established expertise in G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) regulation and endocytic trafficking.
- Current research focuses on ubiquitination's role in GPCR lysosomal sorting
- Investigates FPR2 regulation in inflammation and cannabinoid receptor signaling in cancer
- Develops photoswitchable ligands for precise receptor control
His 2025-2023 publications reveal specialization in:
- GPCR signaling fidelity and degradation
- Ubiquitin-ESCRT pathway interactions
- Cannabinoid-5-HT receptor cross-talk
- Neuropharmacological compound design
- Medical education innovations using pop culture
Grants from BBSRC, Friends of Anchor, and NHS Grampian support his work. He teaches honors Molecular Pharmacology and coordinates neuroscience modules, supervising student projects on receptor biology and drug design.
