James Harcus is an Associate Professor in Diagnostic Radiography (Advanced Practice and Radiographic Reporting) at the University of Bradford, part of the School of Allied Health Professions & Midwifery. He leads the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (Radiography) programme and reporting modules. His academic journey includes roles at Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Leeds before joining Bradford in late 2023.

His work emphasizes clinical reporting, preliminary clinical evaluation (PCE), and enhancing radiographer roles in healthcare systems.
Professional Contributions: Assessor for the College of Radiographers, editorial board member for Insight, and peer reviewer for Radiography and JMIRS. Co-founded the Leading the Way: Radiography Advanced Practice (LTWRAP) international conference in 2016.
Teaching & Leadership: Develops curricula in advanced radiography practice, anatomy, and clinical image evaluation. Previously led workforce development initiatives through the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw ICS Clinical Academy.
