James Corning

James Corning is an Adjunct Professor at the Seattle University School of Law. He serves as principal corporate counsel for Microsoft's Experiences & Devices division, advising on legal matters related to consumer web products. Previously, he held roles at Zulily as Assistant General Counsel and at law firm Davis Wright Tremaine focusing on complex commercial litigation. He clerked for U.S. District Judge Edward F. Shea post-graduation.

Education highlights include a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law (summa cum laude, 2012) and a B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Washington. He also served as Law Review editor and moot court team member during law school.

Professional expertise spans antitrust, intellectual property, consumer protection, and technology law. He currently advises the Washington State Bar Association on disciplinary matters and has represented attorneys in bar disciplinary proceedings.
