Professor James Clackson is a Fellow and Director of Studies in Classics at Jesus College, University of Cambridge, and holds the title of Professor of Comparative Philology at the Faculty of Classics. His work bridges classical and comparative philology with a focus on Indo-European languages.

Research interests include Latin and Greek languages, comparative historical linguistics (especially the Indo-European family), and Armenian-Greek linguistic relationships.
