Grant Kynaston is a PhD candidate in classical linguistics at the University of Cambridge, funded by the Gates Cambridge Trust. His research focuses on the influence of accentual paradigms on Late Antique Greek poetry and the linguistic and cultural intersections between Greek/Latin and Semitic languages in post-Nicaean Christian and early Islamic contexts. He holds a BA (Classics, University Medal) and LLB (Honours) from the University of Sydney, an MPhil (Classics, Distinction) from Cambridge, and an Islamic Law degree (Distinction, Charles Sturt Medal).

Research Interests: Late Antique Greek prosody, Christian-Muslim textual exchanges in the Mediterranean, comparative philology of Semitic and Indo-European languages, and the socio-linguistic dynamics of religious communities in Late Antiquity.
