James C. Robinson is a Professor of Health Economics and the Leonard D. Schaeffer Endowed Chair in Health Economics and Policy at UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health. He chairs the Berkeley Center for Health Technology, focusing on innovative medical technologies’ coverage, management, and payment methods. His expertise spans biotechnology policy, medical device economics, and healthcare payment systems.
Education: PhD in Economics (UC Berkeley), MPH in Health Planning & Policy (UC Berkeley), BA in Economics and Philosophy (UC Santa Cruz). He teaches courses including PH 222A (Health Care Technology Policy) and PH 24 (Economics of Pharmaceutical Innovation).
