James Bacchus is Distinguished University Professor of Global Affairs and Director of the Center for Global Economic and Environmental Opportunity at UCF. A founding judge and former Chairman of the WTO Appellate Body, he brings unparalleled experience in international governance to his academic work.
His research focuses on international law, trade policy, and global environmental governance. Professor Bacchus authored influential books including 'Trade and Freedom' and 'The Willing World: Shaping and Sharing a Sustainable Global Prosperity', named by Financial Times as one of the 'Best Books of 2018'.
He chairs the International Chamber of Commerce's Commission on Trade and Investment Policy and has served on UN climate change advisory panels, bringing practical policy experience to his scholarly work on sustainable development.
