James A. Weyhenmeyer

James A. Weyhenmeyer is Professor of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology at Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine, with adjunct appointments at the University of Illinois (Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Pathology) and Georgia State University (Neuroscience, Biology). Previously serving as Auburn's Vice President for Research and Economic Development (2019-2023), he spearheaded growth that elevated the university to top 11% national research ranking with expenditures surging from $190.3M to $304.4M.

His educational background includes a BA in Biology from Knox College, PhD in Cell Biology/Immunology from Indiana University, and postdoctoral training in Physiology/Neuroscience at the University of Iowa.
