Jalnidh Kaur

Jalnidh Kaur is a Lecturer in Economics at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, joining in August 2024. Her research bridges development economics, behavioral economics, and the economics of education, focusing on how informational and behavioral barriers affect human capital investments in low-income settings.

• Education: PhD in Economics and Education from Columbia University (2024), MPhil in Economics from University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar (2015), and BA (Hons) in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi (2013).
• Research Focus: Combines insights from psychology and behavioral economics to study psychosocial tools for overcoming adversity, with ongoing projects in India, Pakistan, and Kenya.

She is affiliated with the Applied Economics research cluster and uses randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to address policy-relevant questions.
