Jakub Marek is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, Prague. His academic career centers on modern philosophy and philosophical anthropology, with a focus on Kierkegaard, Schopenhauer, and Nietzsche. He has held leadership roles as Head of the Department of Philosophy (2020–2025) and Head of the Philosophical Module (2019–2025).

- Bc. (2004) in Humanities with summa cum laude distinction
Marek’s research explores themes of mortality, existential dialectics, and Kierkegaardian concepts. His publications include books and peer-reviewed papers analyzing Kierkegaard’s pseudonyms, contradiction, and existential ethics.
His scholarly work spans existentialism, political philosophy, and metaphysical theory, with a focus on 20th-century European thought and its intersections with religious and anthropological frameworks.
