Jade Robertson is an Assistant Professor at Medgar Evers College and a groundbreaking interdisciplinary artist, choreographer, and filmmaker. Her work explores dance as a ministry to uplift people of color and heal all individuals through contemporary, modern, hip hop, ballet, gospel, and Afro-Diasporic movements.
Robertson received her MFA in Dance from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a BA in Dance and Theater from Columbia College Chicago.
Her research and creative practice focuses on the intersection of dance, racial dialogue, and collective healing. She integrates diverse movement traditions and addresses social issues through her films and performances.
Her notable awards include:

- Hicks Choreographer Fellowship from Jacob’s Pillow

Her dance film Recharge (2020) and Reverse (2016) gained critical acclaim, with the latter featured in the New York Times. She also released the children’s book Gold: Made Just for You in 2023.
