Jacquie Vorauer is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Arts, specializing in social psychology and intergroup relations. Her research explores metaperceptions, empathy dynamics, power asymmetries, and evaluative concerns in interpersonal and intergroup contexts.

Her work investigates how empathy and perspective-taking paradoxically affect marginalized groups, power perception shifts in intergroup interactions, and the role of multiculturalism in social dynamics. Funded by SSHRC, her lab examines both in-person and online communication platforms.
Recent publications focus on empathy's disempowering effects, multiculturalism's role in minority persuasion, and metaperception biases. Awards include Fellowships from APS, APA, and CPA. She mentors numerous graduate and honours students, many of whom now hold academic or research positions globally.
