معرفی
Jacques Pouyssegur is a distinguished French biochemist and molecular biologist affiliated with the University of Nice and the Centre de Biochimie CNRS. His research spans over five decades, with significant contributions to cancer biology, cellular signaling, and metabolic regulation.
Research Interests: His work focuses on the molecular mechanisms of cancer progression, including growth factor signaling, angiogenesis, and the tumor microenvironment. He has extensively studied pH regulation, Na+-H+ antiporters, MAP kinases, and hypoxia signaling pathways. His recent work explores nutrient sensing in cancer cells, particularly how cells adapt to low oxygen and glucose conditions.
Scientific Recognition: He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Leopold Griffuel Prize for Cancer Research, the Sir Hans Krebs Medal from FEBS, and the Carl Cori Lecture Award. He is a member of the French Academy of Sciences, EMBO, and Academia Europaea.
Academic Career: Beyond his primary role at the University of Nice, he has held sabbatical positions at MIT's Whitehead Institute (1996) and the University of San Francisco (1988), and conducted postdoctoral research at the NIH and the University of Leicester.
