Pierre Leopold

Pierre Leopold is a faculty member at Institut Curie (since 2019) and previously led a research group at iBV, University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis (1998-2018). He holds a permanent researcher position at Inserm (since 1988).

• Previous: Group leader at iBV (1998-2018), ATIP Group Leader at CNRS (1993-1997), Postdoctoral fellow at UCSF (1990-1992)

Research Interests focus on Drosophila developmental genetics, organ crosstalks, and hormonal regulation of growth. His work explores nutritional physiology, insulin signaling, and ecdysone hormone dynamics in developmental biology.

Scientific Awards include ERC Advanced Grants (2010, 2016), EMBO membership (2008), and multiple French Academy of Sciences prizes. He received the Exceptional Class Research Director distinction at INSERM (2014).
