Jacquelyn Gleisner is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Art & Design at the University of New Haven, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds an M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a B.F.A. summa cum laude from Boston University, with additional studies at Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy.
Her research focuses on patterns, surface design, and decoration, exploring their historical and contemporary intersections with craft, fine art, and abstract painting. She investigates how ornamentation and color manipulate spatial perception and viewer engagement, often repurposing fragile paper scrolls into site-specific installations.
Gleisner’s work has been exhibited internationally in Finland, Italy, Botswana, and the U.S., particularly New England. She contributes to art publications like Art21, Art New England, and Hyperallergic, blending studio practice with critical writing.
