Nancy Hart

Nancy Hart is a tenured Associate Professor of Art in the Department of Art at the College of Arts and Humanities, University of Texas Permian Basin.

Her educational background includes:

• BFA in Painting from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia
• MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

Professor Hart's research focuses on mixed media art deeply influenced by Dada and Fluxus movements, specializing in transformative works using found objects and collaged images to subvert original meanings. Her practice spans artist books, collages, and drawings, with international exhibitions across 12 countries including Cuba, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, South Korea, Switzerland, the UK, and the USA. She actively integrates historical avant-garde techniques with contemporary conceptual approaches.
