Jacqueline Shaw is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), holding the Schiller Family Assistant Professorship in Race in Art and Design. She founded Studio Euonym, a research and design practice focused on constructs of value in historical architecture, artifacts, and systems of evaluation. Her work explores re-evaluative approaches to historic preservation and the individual experience of architectural details.
Education:
- BFA in Interior Design, California State University, Long Beach
- Master of Architecture (MArch) with distinction, University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning
Research & Professional Experience: Shaw has over 10 years of professional experience in New York City and Detroit, including roles at SPAN Architecture and Jaklitsch/Gardner Architects. Her thesis go(slow)gas up examined dismantling everyday practices through site-specific installations. Her work appears in Dimensions, Ampersand, Surface, and The Wall Street Journal.
Labs/Teams: Studio Euonym, a research-driven design practice based in Providence.
Future Work: On sabbatical from Fall 2025 to Wintersession 2026.
