Jacqueline A. Clauss, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland Medical School and the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center. Previously affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, she integrates clinical care, teaching, and neuroscience research focused on early psychosis and anxiety disorders.
Her research examines neurobiological mechanisms of risk and resilience in psychiatric disorders through longitudinal neuroimaging studies, population-based cohorts (e.g., Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development study), and transdiagnostic frameworks. Key areas include brain neurocircuitry, structural development, and translating findings into interventions for at-risk adolescents.
Recent publications highlight trends in neuroimaging methodology, pandemic-related neurodevelopmental impacts, catatonia in neurodiverse populations, and BNST/amygdala connectivity. She leads resilience-focused intervention development and participates in national workgroups addressing early psychosis.
