معرفی
Dr. Jacobo Elies Gomez is an Associate Professor in Pharmacology at the University of Bradford, affiliated with the School of Pharmacy & Medical Sciences within the Faculty of Life Sciences. He holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). His research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying cardiovascular diseases linked to skin disorders, including Systemic Sclerosis, Lupus erythematosus, and Psoriasis. He investigates cellular communication between mesenchymal and endothelial cells, particularly how dysregulation in the integumentary system impacts microvasculature. Key areas of study include ion channel regulation by gasotransmitters, hypoxia, oxidative stress, and calcium handling in skin microvasculature.
Dr. Elies completed postdoctoral research at the University of Leeds (Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine) under Prof. Chris Peers, followed by a Wellcome Trust ISSF Fellowship (2015) to study cellular communication in dermal cell types. He has published 38 peer-reviewed works across journals, books, and conferences, and has engaged in professional activities such as outreach and association memberships.
