Dr. Ir. Ing. Jacob van Berkel is a Professor at HZ University of Applied Sciences and the driving force behind the Delta Power professorship. His work focuses on sustainable energy technologies, including tidal energy, hydropower, solar energy, heat pumps, energy storage, and thermodynamics. He runs his own company, Entry Technology, which develops and markets solar energy systems while advising governments and industries. Jacob is also an inventor with 11 patents in renewable energy fields, notably designing a small water turbine manufactured in over three million units. He is humorously nicknamed 'Willy Wortel' in his hometown of Rhenen.
