Jacob Shelley is an Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in the Faculty of Law and School of Health Studies at Western University, with cross appointments to the Schulich Interfaculty Program in Public Health and as Associate Faculty at the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. He directs the Health Ethics, Law & Policy (HELP) Lab. His research focuses on legal frameworks for public health, chronic disease prevention, and the intersection of law, ethics, and health science.
Shelley holds a SJD (Doctorate in Law) from the University of Toronto (as a Vanier Fellow), an LLB and LLM from the University of Alberta, and a Master of Theological Studies from Conrad Grebel University College. His work examines topics such as obesity litigation, tobacco control policy, nutrigenetic regulation, and food safety law.
Research Interests include:
