Research explores connections between literature, criticism, and history through philosophical, historical, and political contexts. Key interests include modernity, poetry and poetics from Romantic to contemporary periods, and theories of criticism/interpretation. Current work examines translation in the European revolutionary period (1782-1815) and contemporary intermedial poetics across visual art, cinema, and sound.
Publications primarily focus on modern poetry, form, and aesthetic philosophy, with recurring analysis of Paul Celan, Adorno, and Blanchot. Recent works demonstrate engagement with materiality, intermediality, and political dimensions of literary form.
Co-directs the Comparative Methods Lab investigating cross-disciplinary analytical approaches to literature.
