معرفی
Jacob Geri, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at Weill Cornell Medical College since 2021. He holds a PhD from the University of Michigan (2018) and a BS from Stetson University (2012). His research focuses on developing optically controlled proximity labeling technologies to study protein interactions critical to disease mechanisms, particularly in cancer and immunology. Techniques employed include photochemistry, organic synthesis, and molecular biology.
Education:
- PhD, University of Michigan, 2018
- BS, Stetson University, 2012
Research Interests: Geri’s lab investigates transient protein interactions using innovative optically gated methods. Key areas include bioactive small molecules, high-throughput screening, and proteomics. The work bridges chemistry and biology to uncover disease pathways and advance drug discovery.
Grant Activity:
- Starr Cancer Consortium: Elucidating leukemia stem cell niche interactions (2024–2026)
- National Institute of General Medical Sciences: Optically gated protein-biomolecule interactions (2022–2027)
- National Cancer Institute: Early pancreatic cancer detection via proteomics (2023–2028)
