Dr. Jacob Moses is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioethics & Health Humanities at the University of Texas Medical Branch, affiliated with the Institute for Bioethics & Health Humanities. He holds a PhD in History of Science from Harvard University and completed postdoctoral training in Medical Humanities and Social Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
His research integrates history of medicine, bioethics, and science and technology studies, examining medical decision-making, public health governance, gender and sexuality, surgical history, and biomedical ethics. His current book project explores therapeutic reversals in surgery since the mid-20th century.
Recent publications address feminist approaches to pediatric gender-affirming care, health equity in clinical research, and historical perspectives on physicians' emotional health.
