Jackie Clark is a Clinical Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences and the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. She is associated with the Callier Center for Communication Disorders and serves as Managing Editor of the International Journal of Audiology. Her expertise spans audiology, telemedicine, and global health, with a focus on hearing loss, speech perception, and cultural barriers to healthcare.
Clark holds a PhD in Human Development and Communication Sciences (UTD, 1995), an M.S. in Communication Disorders (UTD, 1987), and a B.S. in Textile Science and Merchandising (Colorado State University, 1975). Her research explores telepractice efficacy, hearing technology innovation, aging and speech perception, and global hearing care disparities. Notable projects include teleaudiology initiatives in Zambia and Mozambique, and collaborations with institutions in South Africa and China.
Her publications emphasize cultural competence in audiology, hearing screening protocols, and pandemic-era healthcare adaptations. She actively engages in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Audiology and the International Society of Audiology, recently serving as President-Elect of the AAA. Clark’s work bridges clinical practice, global health equity, and technological innovation in audiology.
