Linda Thibodeau is a Full Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences. Her research focuses on assistive listening technologies for hearing-impaired individuals, auditory training, and amplification circuits. She holds a Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Minnesota (1986), and prior degrees from the University of Texas (M.A., 1977; B.A., 1975).
Her professional roles include AUD Program Head at UTD, audiological consulting for school districts and organizations, and continuing education instruction. She has advised numerous doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students in audiology and related fields. Her work has been supported by grants such as the NIH-funded 'Lessons for Success Conference' (2005–2008).
Thibodeau is actively involved in professional organizations like the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Acoustical Society of America. Notable recognition includes the 2011 Cheryl DeConde Johnson Award for advancing educational and pediatric audiology. Her Hearing Health Lab explores innovations in auditory rehabilitation and classroom acoustics.
