Dr. Jack Lee is a Lecturer in Comparative Education and Education Policy at the University of Edinburgh's Moray House School of Education and Sport (now affiliated with the University of Glasgow). He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and an M.Ed. from the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on higher education globalization, transnational education, and regional dynamics in Asia, with particular attention to soft power and Belt and Road Initiative impacts. He advises UNESCO and Malaysian institutions on higher education policy and has contributed to ethics discussions in internationalization.
He supervises PhD students exploring topics such as research capacity in Uzbekistan, Chinese early-career researchers' mobility, and gender inequality in Chinese higher education. Dr. Lee has held visiting roles at the University of Bath's International Centre for Higher Education Management and serves on editorial and governance boards, including Compare journal and the British Association for International & Comparative Education (BAICE).
His awards include recognition for teaching excellence and supervisory mentorship. Current affiliations include the University of Glasgow, with prior grants examining international faculty mobility and student financial aid equity in Kazakhstan.
