Jack Holt is Professor of Biology and Ecology Program Director at Susquehanna University. A freshwater ecologist specializing in algal biology, he researches aquatic ecosystems in Pennsylvania and Russia.
Research examines algal communities in freshwater systems including the Susquehanna River and Penns Creek. Holt directs Saturday Science outreach program, funded by Pennsylvania Space Grant since 1993, providing hands-on science education for local students.
Teaching includes Systematic Biology, Aquatic Ecology, and interdisciplinary science courses. International research collaborations include algal studies in Yaroslavl, Russia. Holt authored 'Paths of Science' science education essays.
