Jack Halberstam is the David Feinson Professor of Humanities at Columbia University, where he serves as Director of the Institute for Research on Women, Gender and Sexuality. His research encompasses cultural studies, queer theory, film and media studies, gothic literature, horror film, gender and sexuality studies, popular culture, and feminist theory. Halberstam has authored seven books including 'Skin Shows: Gothic Horror and the Technology of Monsters' (1995), 'Female Masculinity' (1998), 'In A Queer Time and Place' (2005), 'The Queer Art of Failure' (2011), 'Gaga Feminism: Sex, Gender, and the End of Normal' (2012), 'Trans*: A Quick and Quirky Account of Gender Variance', and 'Wild Things: The Disorder of Desire' (2020).
