J.J. Renema

J.J. Renema is an Assistant Professor in the Adaptive Quantum Optics group at the University of Twente, Faculty of Science and Technology. He obtained his PhD cum laude from Leiden University, followed by a Rubicon grant and Junior Research Fellowship at Oxford University. His research focuses on quantum optics and photonics with applications to quantum computing.

His core research investigates multiphoton quantum interference phenomena in integrated photonic systems. Key areas include development of superconducting photon detectors, quantum complexity theory, and silicon nitride photonic platforms for quantum information processing.

Recent publications explore relativistic effects in gravitational wave spacetimes and anisotropic collapse models, with implications for cosmic jet formation mechanisms. Research consistently bridges theoretical quantum optics with experimental photonic implementations.
