James H. Buckley is a Professor of Physics at Washington University in St. Louis, affiliated with the McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences and the Center for Quantum Leaps. His research focuses on Particle Astrophysics, particularly dark matter searches using experiments like ADMX, gamma-ray astronomy with collaborations such as VERITAS and CTA, and multi-messenger studies of astrophysical transients like Fast Radio Bursts. He also develops advanced photonic semiconductor and superconducting devices, including quantum-noise limited sensors and high-speed imaging sensors for biomedical applications.
